Philip E. Howe, CPA, MBA

Director of Accelerated Programs, Wescoe School

Philip E. Howe is the Director of Accelerated Programs at the Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College. In this role, Howe manages the quality and effectiveness of the programs and directs the individual program coordinators, advisory board, mentors/ facilitators, adjunct faculty and support staff.

Howe has been a part of the Muhlenberg family since April 2000, as an adjunct instructor at the Wescoe School, teaching such classes as accounting and finance, management, and leadership. He has also lead many presentations in his Muhlenberg career, most notably, his closing presentation on “Innovation and Creative Destruction” at the Creativity Symposium held at the College. Howe, a huge proponent of innovative thinking and problem solving even teaches a course called “Change as Opportunity.”

Howe’s accomplishments go far beyond the red doors of Muhlenberg College.  He is a past president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and currently serves on its Executive Committee. At the state level of the PICPA he serves on the Relations with Schools and Colleges Committee and on the Pennsylvania CPA Journal Editorial Board.  Howe has been a member of the PICPA since 1971 and has written several articles for the Pennsylvania CPA Journal.  He has also had articles appear in the Allentown Morning Call and the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal.

He is also the owner and principal of Prospective Consulting in Allentown, which focuses on change, innovation, and learning. Previously, Howe spent 30 years working for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc in Allentown, PA.
